At Shri Radhey Krishna Gau Dham Trust (Regd.), We maintain numbers of Cows, Bulls, Calf’s at our Gaushala (Cow shelter), a place where cows are being kept & looked after systematically. These cows are feeded with Seasonal Green Fodder, Feed, Weat Turi, Rice Turi, Mustard oil cake, Cotton seed oil cake, Chocker, nourishing & protein and vitamins foods. They have been regularly examined by veterinary doctors & treated accordingly. The cow is considered as a sacred & holy animal in Hindu religion. we worship cow on various occasions especially on Gopal Ashtmi and we call them Gomata.

What is a Gaushala?
A Gaushala as we call them are the shelters especially designed for keeping a large number of cows who are past the age where they can deliver milk, but have many more years of life remaining. Rather than have the non-milking cows slaughtered, as is currently practiced, gaushalas provide nourishment and humane, sustainable living in clean and hygienic surroundings.

Shri Radhey Krishna Gaudham Trust Registered is located in Village KAIND, Malerkotla Road, district LUDHIANA, The place is located at a distance of 13Kms from Ludhiana to Malerkotla by road. It is surrounded all around by natural beauty. Iit is also a peaceful and safe dwelling for the inhabitant animals.
Construction and Area
Shree Radhey Krishna Gaudham Trust (Regd.) has an area of about 9500 Square yards. The Gaudham has shed, store house for fodder, water tanks and rooms, kitchen, park built in it i.e.
- Cow Shed
- Fodder storage area is 13000 feet.
- Separate kitchen & living rooms for the care takers of the cows.
- Rooms for visitiors and separate rooms for ladies
- A water tank having capacity of 3000 thousand liters.
- Tree plantation.
- A tractor trolley.
Cost and maintenance
There is a significant cost occurred in taking care of such a large number of cows. It is having a monthly expense of about INR 2 lakhs and yearly expense of about INR 25 to 30 Lacs approximately. It maintains high quality services for cows and officials are working day and night to make it the best place for cow living. Gaushala is aimed for a noble cause of cow protection and preservation.
HISTORY
The word Gaushala is derived from Sanskrit word which further splits in two words as- “Gau” + “Shala”. While the Gau refers to Cow, Shala means Shelter. Thereby, referring to Shelter for Cows. Gaushalas are specifically designed for serving the large number of cows at one place by providing sustainable food and maintaining hygienic surroundings. The gaushala officials stay there all the time for taking care of cows and ensuring the availability of necessary items for their healthy living.
